Hi Friends,
Apologies for missing a post last week. I did a bit of a ski trip in the mountains of British Colombia (Whistler specifically) and needed a bit of a recharge.
What an amazing place, highly recommend for anybody that hasn’t been!
Anyway, even while I was gone for a few days I still managed to book 5 outbound demos last week.
And this got me thinking a lot more about relevancy at scale.
The question that I’ve continued to challenge myself on is whether there is a way to make a message sound like it’s 1:1 with the least amount of work involved for myself.
There’s been a lot of hype and talk around platforms like Clay, and over the last 2 months, I’ve made it a personal project of mine to dive deeper and harness it’s true power.
If you haven’t heard of or used Clay before, I highly recommend checking it out.
It can pretty much automate any aspect of prospecting for you and I haven’t seen anything like it…yet.
Here’s how I used it to book those 5 meetings last week:
In a previous newsletter, I mentioned that at Barley, we recently integrated global salary benchmarking data into our platform and that I’ve been offering a sample of free salary data for certain roles that my target accounts have job postings for.
Here was an example email:
Subject line: Salaries in UK, Argentina & Brazil
Hi [Name]
Noticed you have open positions for software developers in the UK, Argentina & Brazil.
Almost every HR leader I talk to struggles to find good benchmarking data globally for these roles.
We recently launched a platform with global salary data for these types of roles.
Want some sample data to see how it compares?
Best,
P.S. we can integrate directly with your Bamboo instance
This email has been working really well for starting the conversation.
The problem is that I was doing the research for a lot of this manually and now I’ve found a way to automate it.
In the video below, I’ll show you how I can build a list of accounts that gives me the following information in the brackets instantly that I can upload into Apollo, Outreach, Smartlead etc. without having to manually write a single email.
